Safeguarding at Kingdom Academy

As a training provider Kingdom Academy have responsibility for the welfare of all our learners. Our tutors and skills coach will act if there are any signs of anyone being at risk. We will support you if you  face any form of bullying, harassment and/or discrimination, if you are experiencing any difficulties that may impact of your studies or if you need access to specialist support . We have a policy in place that;

  • Prevents unsuitable people working with learners
  • Promotes safe practices and challenge poor and unsafe practice in the workplace
  • Identifies instances where there are grounds for concern about a learner’s welfare and ensures that appropriate action is taken to support learners to keep safe.

Our Approach to Safeguarding

All staff are required to complete safeguarding training as part of their induction.  Everyone within the organisation is required to complete a mandatory training every two years.

Learners are required to complete a Safeguarding Workbook as part of your induction. This helps to ensure that you know what safeguarding is and where to go if you have a concern about your own or others, health and safety or wellbeing.

For more detail please read our Safeguarding and Prevent Policy.

Keeping Learners Safe

The PREVENT Duty

We also have a responsibility to ensure we comply with the Prevent duty. This duty forms part of the Government’s counter terrorism strategy. Terrorists’ threats in the UK can come from a range of organisations and in some case lone individuals.

All terrorist groups need to radicalise people to their cause. How, where and to what extent they do this varies.  We have a strategy in place that;

  • Requires all staff and learners to undertake Prevent training
  • Requires all staff to promote mainstream British values
  • Ensures all staff act timely to report any concerns regarding radicalisation and/or threats to commit terrorism.

All tutors and mentors are required to complete Prevent training as part of their induction and every 2 years after that.

Learners are expected to complete the Safeguarding and Prevent Workbook at induction to help you understand the risks of radicalisation and how to help keep yourself and others safe. For full details read our Prevent Strategy.

Be Vigilant & Alert

Worried About Someone Or Their Behaviour?

If you’re concerned about someone’s safety, wellbeing, or behaviour, it’s important to speak up. Whether it’s a fellow learner, colleague, or someone in your personal life, raising concerns early can make a real difference.

At Kingdom Academy, our safeguarding team is here to listen and provide support. If you notice behaviour that seems unusual, harmful, or puts someone at risk, we encourage you to share your concerns confidentially. This could include:

  • Signs of bullying, harassment, or discrimination.
  • Changes in mood, appearance, or behaviour that cause concern.
  • Signs of potential harm, abuse, or neglect.
  • Worrying comments or actions related to radicalisation.

How to Report a Concern:

For emergencies or immediate threats, contact the police by calling 999.
