What’s New at Kingdom Academy: Fresh Website, New Quals & Sector Highlights

September marks the start of a new season and at Kingdom Academy it feels like a fresh chapter too. We’ve launched our refreshed website, expanded our qualifications offer to include our construction apprenticeships and qualifications, and we’ve had the privilege of been part of some exciting sector events. Our main picture this month showcases our CIH Apprentice Of The Year Eve Jakeman who we were incredibly proud to present with her award earlier in the month. A fantastic achievement and testament to her commitment and the support from her colleagues and the team at Kingdom Academy who helped her to make the most out of her apprenticeship journey.

Alongside these milestones, we’re also looking ahead… from celebrating the launch of the EROSH qualification, to sharing a sector leading brand new practical resource for all learners this upcoming World Mental Health Day – as well as welcoming new talent to our team.

This month’s edition brings you updates, highlights and insights designed to support your journey, whether that’s developing your skills, planning your workforce strategy, or keeping connected to sector change.

Here’s what’s inside:

  • Our refreshed website is live!

EROSH Qualification Launch

Programme Spotlight: EROSH Qualification Launch

We’re delighted to announce the launch of a brand new qualification in partnership with Erosh, the national consortium for older people’s housing and support.

From Tuesday 14 October 2025, Erosh members can enrol on the CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice (Independent Living Services), delivered exclusively by Kingdom Academy.

This pathway has been designed to reflect the realities of the Independent Living sector – from the changing expectations of residents to the evolving responsibilities of housing professionals. It’s a qualification with purpose, equipping learners with the knowledge and confidence to deliver services that make a real difference.

And this is just the beginning. In early 2026, a Level 4 pathway will follow, offering continued professional development and recognition for those shaping the future of Independent Living services.

SHiP Conference 2025 Round Up

SHiP Conference 2025 Round Up

On Thursday 18 September, Kingdom Academy was proud to be part of this year’s SHiP Conference in Leeds, a key event for housing associations providing supported housing.

Our COO, Sara Roberts, and Head of Delivery, Tom Collins, led two workshops on the Competency Standard: Professionalising Housing, sparking conversation around the incoming Competence & Conduct Standard (October 2026).

The sessions created an open forum for discussion, helping attendees cut through the noise and focus on what the new standard will mean in practice.

Are you preparing for the impact of the Competence & Conduct Standard on your organisation? Download our free toolkit, designed to support decision-makers in understanding the new legislation and planning an effective response.

Celebrating Rising Talent in Housing

Celebrating Rising Talent in Housing

We’re excited to share that Kingdom Academy is sponsoring the Rising Star Award at the Housing Executive Awards 2025. This award shines a spotlight on early-career professionals who are already making a big impact… people bringing fresh ideas, dedication and leadership potential to the housing sector.

For us, this sponsorship is about living our CARE values:

  • Diversity – championing people from all backgrounds whose perspectives strengthen our sector.
  • Well-Being – supporting talent in ways that sustain personal and professional growth.
  • Better Future – investing in today’s emerging leaders to build stronger communities tomorrow.
  • Local Communities – recognising the people improving services where they live and work.

We’re looking forward to celebrating the nominees and the difference they are making across the sector.

Welcome Christine Coxon!

Team Update: Welcome Christine Coxon!

We’re delighted to welcome Christine Coxon to Kingdom Academy as our new Quality Manager. Christine leads our preparations for Ofsted inspections, ensuring we remain fully aligned with the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) and that quality is embedded across every area of delivery. She also oversees our Safeguarding strategy, keeping the well-being of learners and staff at the heart of everything we do.

Christine brings over 14 years of experience in education and quality management, including senior roles at ProVQ Ltd. With a career spanning learner support, functional skills and quality assurance, she has a deep understanding of what it takes to create a safe, supportive and high-quality learning environment.

“For me, quality is about more than compliance…It’s about making sure every learner feels supported, every programme delivers real value, and every partner can be confident in the standards we uphold. I can’t wait to get started!”

We’re excited to have Christine on board as we continue to strengthen our provision for learners and employers alike.

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day: Toolkit Coming Soon

To mark World Mental Health Day on 10 October, Kingdom Academy will be releasing a new Mental Health Toolkit created especially for our learners.

We know that learning is about more than assignments and workshops. Well-being plays a vital role in how people progress, build confidence and achieve their goals. That is why we have developed this resource to sit alongside our training programmes and provide practical support when it is needed most.

The toolkit will be available to all existing learners, as well as those joining us in the months ahead. Inside, you will find strategies for managing pressure, guidance on building resilience, and signposts to further support. It is designed to give learners reassurance that they are not alone in the challenges they face and that their well-being matters as much as their professional development.

This is the first resource of its kind in our sector, and we are proud to be leading the way in embedding well-being into the learning journey.

Keep an eye on your inbox for the launch!

Shaping the Future Women in Construction

Shaping the Future: Women in Construction

Construction has traditionally been one of the least diverse areas of the housing and built environment sector. That picture is starting to shift, with more women entering the industry and demonstrating the value of diverse skills and perspectives.

Our CSO, Sara Roberts, has been reflecting on what this change means. The demand for skilled professionals in construction is growing, and it is clear that the sector cannot afford to overlook half of its potential workforce. Diverse teams deliver better results, and encouraging more women into construction is not just about fairness, it is about building a stronger industry.

As Sara explains:
“When women see other women thriving in construction, it changes what feels possible. Every success story sends a message to the next generation that this sector is open to them too.”

At Kingdom Academy, our commitment is to turn that vision into reality. With an expanding portfolio of construction qualifications and apprenticeships, we are creating pathways that welcome and support women at every stage of their careers.
