As we progress into the second half of 2026, preparation for the Competence and Conduct Standard is becoming an increasingly important priority for housing providers across the UK.
While qualification requirements have attracted much of the attention, organisations are also considering wider areas including workforce development, professional standards, codes of conduct, tenant involvement and long-term competency planning. With implementation approaching, many are now focusing on how these requirements can be embedded in a practical and sustainable way.
At the same time, the sector continues to balance the day-to-day realities of service delivery, supporting communities, managing complex cases and developing the next generation of housing professionals.
This month, we are pleased to launch our new Competence and Conduct Standard Hub, designed to help organisations navigate the requirements with confidence. We are also sharing details of our free information sessions, getting ready for ASB Awareness Week, celebrating the retention of our Matrix Accreditation, highlighting upcoming construction training opportunities and providing a first look at our new Level 3 CIH Homelessness qualification.

Introducing Our Competence and Conduct Standard Hub
This month, we are pleased to launch our dedicated Competence and Conduct Standard Hub, created to help housing providers navigate the requirements ahead of implementation in October 2026.
Designed as a practical resource for the sector, the hub brings together guidance, tools and support in one place, making it easier for organisations to understand the requirements and plan their approach with confidence.
Resources available through the hub include:
- A Competence and Conduct Readiness Assessment
- An Employer Readiness Toolkit
- A Role Assessment Tool
- Guidance on qualification requirements
- Information on CIH Top-Up Units
- Tenant involvement resources
- Competence and development planning guidance
- Code of conduct guidance and templates
While qualifications remain an important element of the standard, the requirements extend much further. Housing providers will also need to consider workforce development, professional behaviours, tenant engagement, competence management and organisational policies.
Our aim is simple: to provide housing providers with practical, accessible resources that support implementation and help organisations prepare effectively for October 2026.
Free Competence and Conduct Information Sessions
Alongside the launch of our Competence and Conduct Standard Hub, we are also running a series of free information sessions designed to help housing providers understand the requirements and explore their options ahead of implementation.
These interactive sessions provide an opportunity to ask questions, discuss common challenges and gain practical insight into what organisations should be considering as they prepare for October 2026.

Join Us for ASB Awareness Week 2026
ASB Awareness Week takes place from 29 June to 3 July and we are delighted to be supporting a range of activity designed to encourage discussion, share learning and strengthen professional practice across the sector.
As part of the week’s programme, Kingdom Academy will be hosting a free webinar exploring a question many organisations are currently grappling with: What skills are housing and ASB teams actually missing?
Bringing together sector experts and practitioners, the session will explore the challenges facing frontline teams, the changing demands of housing services and the skills needed to support residents and communities effectively.
We are also pleased to be partnering with ADR Mediation for a special Lunch and Learn session during the week, focusing on communication, conflict resolution and practical approaches to managing challenging situations.

Supporting Scottish Construction With Skills Development

Kingdom Academy Retains Matrix Accreditation
This month, we were delighted to successfully retain the matrix Standard following an independent accreditation review.
The matrix Standard is the national quality standard for organisations delivering information, advice and guidance services. As part of the assessment, independent assessors reviewed our policies, performance data and learner journey, while also gathering feedback from staff, learners and employer partners.
The assessment highlighted a number of strengths across Kingdom Academy, including the quality of learner support, strong employer partnerships, support for learners with additional learning needs and our ability to maintain a positive and supportive culture whilst continuing to grow.
Particular recognition was given to the work of our Skills Coaches and the support they provide throughout the learner journey. The assessment also highlighted the positive outcomes being achieved by learners, with many reporting increased confidence, new responsibilities and career progression opportunities as a result of their learning.
For us, retaining Matrix Accreditation is not simply about meeting a standard. It provides independent recognition of the culture, support and commitment to quality that sits behind everything we do.
We would like to thank our learners, employer partners and team members who contributed to the assessment process and continue to play such an important role in our success.
Coming Soon: CIH Level 3 Certificate in Homelessness
We are pleased to announce that the CIH Level 3 Certificate in Homelessness will be launching soon at Kingdom Academy.
Homelessness services continue to face growing demand and increasing complexity, requiring professionals to balance legislation, safeguarding responsibilities, partnership working and person-centred support. The need for skilled, knowledgeable practitioners has never been greater.
This new qualification has been designed to support those working within homelessness prevention, housing options, temporary accommodation, tenancy sustainment and wider housing services. It will provide learners with a deeper understanding of homelessness, its causes, the legislative framework and the practical skills needed to support individuals and families effectively.
The programme will offer a structured pathway for both new and experienced professionals looking to strengthen their knowledge, build confidence and further develop their careers within the sector.
